Sang Yoon Park - MSAC, LAC

Inspired by his own pain-relief journey, Sang Yoon studied acupuncture at the Pacific College of Health and Science, after studying Biology for his undergrad. He is drawn to Traditional Chinese Medicine for its holistic perception, and takes this approach in each session with his clients. Sang Yoon prioritizes health and wellness in his own life, too, and his favorite at-home TCM healing method is cupping—which you can select as an add-on in any in-studio treatment! His specialties are pain management, hair loss management, digestion, and insomnia, but, like each of our Healers, his approach is never one size fits all.

"He may have been the best healer I have had before. He was thorough about understanding my needs before the session, and was communicative as he was conducting acupuncture. So far [after the session] I feel amazing He had already looked at my file and knew it was my second time at the Williamsburg location. He made sure to understand what I wanted to achieve during the session and repeated twice to confirm his understanding. He also shared the advantages of cupping and asked me if I would like to try it during the session. He spoke throughout the treatment and told me exactly what was happening There were a few times when he could have been more specific. For example before the session he told me he needs access to my lower back and left the room. Therefore I was left guessing what articles of clothing I should remove. He also didn't explain I needed to lay down and put the blanket over me. I made that assumption but would have been nice for him to explain explicitly. Later after he applied the needles he asked me what kind of music I would like to listen to. I asked him what the options are and then he said guided meditation or non guided. I think it may have been more effective to offer the options upfront."

"Had my very first acupuncture session today at Wthn along with cupping. I’d been wanting to try this for a while but have always avoided it as I’m not a big fan of needles but Sang Yoon was wonderful and assuaged all my fears. I enjoyed it so much I immediately scheduled my next session!"

"Sang Yoon has a gentle authority that immediately helped me relax! He made me feel at ease and supported. He had read and understood the conditions I listed on my form, but was also able to incorporate treatments for new symptoms that had shown up between filling out my form and arriving at the clinic. He gave a clear treatment plan, 3 weekly sessions to solidify the treatments. After the session, my symptoms mostly improved too."

  • Why did you become an acupuncturist?

Coming from multi-generation of acupuncturists family, I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between mind, body, and energy. Experiencing power of acupuncture firsthand, I felt a deep calling to help others in a holistic way.
