The Calm Seeker
How does stress show up in your life, and how do you manage it?
Stress tends to show up both physically and mentally for me, from heart palpitations, acne flaring, to disrupted digestion, poor sleep, mental fog, and irritability. I've learned to see these signals as invitations to slow down and recalibrate. Managing stress is a daily, intentional commitment that blends functional tools with nervous system support. I focus on small, consistent rituals that regulate my cortisol levels and help me feel grounded.
Do you have a go-to stress ritual or routine?
Yes! My daily stress toolbox includes daily meditation, deep breathing (like the 4-7-8 method and physiological sighs), morning sunlight exposure, and prioritizing sleep with a consistent wind-down routine. I aim to eat a protein-rich breakfast within 30 minutes of waking and avoid skipping meals, which helps stabilize blood sugar, a huge player in cortisol balance. I also love incorporating magnesium glycinate at night and adaptogens like ashwagandha during the day.
How has acupuncture or cupping supported your stress relief?
Acupuncture is one of the most powerful resets for my nervous system. It helps me transition from fight-or-flight into a parasympathetic, healing state. I always leave a session feeling clearer, present, and emotionally regulated. It's like a full-body exhale that allows my system to recharge.
Outside of WTHN, are there apps, supplements, or rituals that help you stay calm?
Definitely! I use the Open app, I am obsessed. I highly suggest their 21-nervous-system reset program. I do 1 -2 of their meditations daily. I also love the Gaia HPA axis blend or the stress support blend from Pure Encapsulations. One of my favorite actives is L-theanine, it's great at promoting calm focus without drowsiness. Additionally, my journaling practice helps me process emotions, and I've learned the power of saying “no” to protect my energy. I also incorporate anti-inflammatory foods, electrolytes, and herbal teas to support my body from the inside out.
What’s your reminder or mantra when stress starts to rise?
“Rest is medicine," or "it's going to get done whether you stress about it or not." I come back to this when I feel overwhelmed or stretched too thin. I remind myself that healing happens in rest, not in urgency, and that creating space for stillness is not indulgent, it's essential. Happy, healthy bodies and cycles only happen when the body feels safe :)
