How does stress show up in your life—and how do you manage it?
I am constantly on the go! Being a travel trainer I travel to all of my clients, and I also work out of the Rumble Studios in Chelsea and the UES. With the NYC craziness always around me I have to remind myself to breath throughout the day, and try to not do absolutely everything with urgency when I don’t need to. Acupuncture does wonders for me at the end of the day when I can truly lay there in zen.
Do you have a go-to stress ritual or routine?
I like to stay grounded in the morning before my day by giving myself PLENTY of time for journaling, having breakfast and coffee. Rushing out the door is absolutely not for me. I make sure to wake up with enough time to not feel super rushed. This alone helps set my day up in a calmer state, because when I walk out the door it is all go.
How has acupuncture or cupping supported your stress relief?
Acupuncture brings me such relief in the sense I can feel my body floating on clouds when I’m at WTHN. It’s like it creates an opening for the stress to leave my body, literally.
Outside of WTHN, are there apps, supplements, or rituals that help you stay calm?
I like to take Ashwagandha in the mornings as well as the WTHN herbs ‘Daily Calm” a couple times a day to help with external stress. A couple other supplements include high quality Omega-3, a Probiotic, and making sure I eat well and sleep well.
What’s your reminder or mantra when stress starts to rise?
It’s not that serious….. Life is about health, loved ones, and kindness. I know that I will get the things done, so try to enjoy the process, slow down, and be present.
